June Meeting

June 10th is the next meeting at the Akron FOP Lodge, 2610 Ley Drive, Akron. Lunch is served at noon, but come early for conversation and fellowship! We will meet in the pavilion.

The menu includes Sausage sandwiches, Hot Dogs, Baked Beans, Potato Salad, and corn on cob. Desserts are always welcome.

We upgraded our News and Information Email System

The Police & Fire Retirees Organization (PFRO25) has moved to a new, more reliable email system.

Why did we do this? Our previous system struggled to deliver our messages to major providers like Yahoo, AOL, and Gmail. Many of you have likely missed our messages because of these technical glitches. We want to fix this immediately so you never miss important news again.

What do you need to do? A invitation/confirmation email was sent to ensure your email address is still active and to comply with new email safety standards. It has a green bar with “Confirm your email” in it. You need to click on the green bar to confirm you want to receive our newsletters. Clicking the green confirmation bar will automatically register you into the new system and you will begin receiving emails as they get posted.

What if I didn’t receive the invitation/confirmation email? Check your spam folder and if it is there, mark it as not spam and move it to your inbox. If you didn’t receive a confirmation email, fill out the Subscribing form and one will be sent to you.

Message from FOP President Lucey

Musicfest is approaching. On June 13th at the lodge, Modern Vinyl will perform. Tickets are available at both the lodge and the FOP office at the station. We are seeking volunteers for the beer truck, as well as assistance with setup prior to the event and teardown afterwards. Participation is vital, as this fundraiser provides essential resources for the FOP’s advocacy efforts.

Lastly, the golf outing will take place on Wednesday, July 29th, at Mayfair. The sign-up sheet is open; please reserve your tee time soon, as space is limited. The entry fee is $300 per team, and includes breakfast, lunch, post-round meal, and beverages.
